Plumeria trees

We have a few Plumeria trees that smell wonderful when in season. I’m wondering if you have ever distilled flowers from a Plumeria tree?

This is a very interesting question. Unfortunately I don’t have the opportunity to distill this tropical plant. For so far I’ve found in the internet, essential oil of Plumeria flowers is produced by hexane extraction. So you in any case you should collect the flowers and try to distill them.
Because they smell strongly in the night I guess it’s the same like roses and jasmine: the flowers contain the most oil early in the morning.
Thus, collect the flowers early in the morning and distill them immediately after collecting them. I’m quite sure you’ll get at least a good smelling hydrosol and with a bit of luck a few drops of essential oil.
